The trend for snow shoe walks is in full force in Lofer, leading you through romantic places covered in deep snow. Curling, cross-country skiing, winter walks, ski tours, ice skating and romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides round off the list for an unforgettable winter holiday in the Salzburg Saalachtal valley.

Interested in a fast-paced toboggan ride? Then head for the 2.14 km-long natural toboggan run at Maria Kirchental in the neighbouring town of St. Martin. Before you go whizzing through the valley on two runners, you should warm up and prepare with a visit to the cosy Kirchentalwirt guesthouse. Twice a week, the course is romantically lit up with flares.
